Two Disco Turkeys play with MLB Partner League teams this year

Disco Turkeys alumni continue to have major success following their time in the organization.

Two players from our inaugural team in 2021 have advanced to play with the Pioneer Baseball League out West. The Pioneer League is a historic professional league and is an MLB Partner League -- a designation reserved for the best quality independent leagues in the country which also partner with MLB.

Chase Jessee, in his second season with the Northern Colorado Owlz, is having a standout season. As a starting pitcher, the former Malone University standout is 8-3 with a 4.58 ERA and was recently named the first ever Owlz pitcher to appear in the league All-Star game. Jessee, a hard throwing lefty, was also a starting pitcher predominately in his time with the Disco Turkeys.

Following his time with the Turkeys, Jessee had a standout summer in 2022 and made the All-Star team in the Maverick League before advancing to a partner league the past two seasons.

Also earning a spot in the Pioneer League this year is former Disco Turkeys and Lindenwood infielder Alex Canty. Alex was on the original Disco Turkeys team back in 2021. After adjusting to pro ball in 2021 following his time with the Turkeys, Canty dominated in the Pecos League in 2022 when he hit .359 with a .943 OPS in 15 games. He appeared briefly for the Pioneer League's Billings Mustangs in late 2023 and started this season on the Mustangs' Opening Day roster.

Jessee and Canty aren't the only ones recognized lately for their talent following successful tenures with the Disco Turkeys. Former Disco Turkeys short stop Austin St. Laurent was drafted this summer by the Seattle Mariners and former Disco Turkeys pitcher Adam Conrad recently signed a free agent contract with the San Diego Padres organization.
