Disco Turkeys to host July 4 fireworks game at Couch Ballpark
The Carolina Disco Turkeys will celebrate Independence Day with baseball and a big post-game fireworks show at Wake Forest’s Couch Ballpark on Saturday, July 4.
The Disco Turkeys will take on the Uwharrie Wampus Cats at 6:30 p.m. in a Blue Ridge League matchup, with a fireworks display immediately following the game to celebrate the country’s 250th birthday.
Parking will be free until first pitch. Tickets start at $10 and are available both online and at the gate. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance online, where reserved seating and table-top options are also available. The first 500 kids with family can receive free admission with a youth sports jersey.
The July 4 game has become one of the Disco Turkeys’ signature summer events, combining college wood-bat baseball, family entertainment and one of Winston-Salem’s most unique Independence Day settings at Couch Ballpark. Concessions and beer are available on site.
“July 4 at Couch Ballpark is exactly the kind of night we want the Disco Turkeys to be known for — great summer baseball, a fun crowd, and a big fireworks show for families across Winston-Salem,” said Disco Turkeys General Manager Marilyn Butterworth. “Playing the Wampus Cats on Independence Day gives us a great Blue Ridge League matchup, and we’re excited to help celebrate America’s 250th birthday with our fans after the game.”
The Disco Turkeys play from May through late July each summer and are one of the top college wood-bat teams in the region. The team is known for its colorful mascot Boogie, its national merchandise following and its growing role in the Winston-Salem summer sports calendar.
Tickets may be purchased at discoturkeys.com or at the gate.
