Disco Turkeys begin AAABA Tournament pool play to start week

The Carolina Disco Turkeys arrived in Johnstown, PA on Sunday afternoon ahead of the historic AAABA Tournament, which begins on Monday afternoon.

The Disco Turkeys open pool play against the Maryland State Crabfest in the 16-team national tournament made up of elite wood bat teams from across the country.

Monday’s game takes place at noon and will be livestreamed on the team’s YouTube channel “Carolina Disco Turkeys Baseball.”

The Disco Turkeys will also play on Tuesday against the Creekside Crocodiles (Youngstown, OH) and on Wednesday against the Brooklyn Cougars. Both games are also at noon.

If the Disco Turkeys advance out of pool play, they’ll advance to the quarterfinals on Thursday.

“Our guys won five out of our last seven regular season games coming into the tournament and we had a good drive up to the tournament,” said team president and co-owner of the Disco Turkeys Greg Sullivan. “We’ve been looking forward to the tournament all season and are excited it’s finally here.”

The team participated in a tournament banquet on Sunday night and will take part in a parade on Monday ahead of Opening Night.
