Disco Turkeys are the only Winston-Salem fireworks game on July 4

The Carolina Disco Turkeys are pleased to announce their home game on July 4 at Wake Forest’s Couch Ballpark will be the only fireworks baseball game in Winston-Salem on the holiday this year.

The game begins at 6:30 with the Disco Turkeys taking on their new rival, the Marion Hungry Mothers, and will immediately be followed by a large fireworks celebration post game. 

In addition to their regular concessions and beer offerings, the event will feature food trucks on site, including Ben's Boyz, Que Viva Latin Street Grill, Smoker Revival, Frios Gourmet Pops, Kona Ice, Dippin' Dots and Flatland Burgers. Also on offer will be the exclusive Disco Turkeys beer from Fiddlin’ Fish Brewing. 

Parking will be free for the game and fireworks until the 6:30 first pitch. Tickets for the game begin at $10 with premium options also available. Children 3 and under are free and the first 250 youth baseball and softball players wearing their team jersey also get a free general admission seat with a paying adult.

The Disco Turkeys are 6-7-1 on the season so far. This year’s team has players from several top regional schools, including Appalachian State, High Point, LaSalle, Old Dominion, VMI, St. Bonaventure and others. Several also played their high school ball in the area.

"We think the secret is out about our July 4th game this year after last year's was a success," said Disco Turkeys team president Greg Sullivan. "We're the only option in town to watch a baseball game and fireworks on July 4 this year and we expect to have another high-calibre fireworks show and a fun, high-level game. The Winston-Salem Dash, Greensboro Grasshoppers and High Point Rockers are all out of town on the Fourth this year, so we expect more fans from all over the Triad.”

The Disco Turkeys play from May through late July every summer and are one of the top college wood-bat teams in the region. The team is known for their colorful mascot Boogie and fans across the country have bought the team’s merchandise.
