Carolina Disco Turkeys begin 2026 season this weekend at Couch

Opening Night “Pups in the Park” set for May 22; May 23 game to feature Northwest N.C. High School All-Star matchup before Disco Turkeys baseball

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The Carolina Disco Turkeys have announced their 2026 home schedule, highlighted by a full summer slate at David F. Couch Ballpark, a pair of major Opening Weekend events, and select “home” games at professional venues in Greensboro and High Point.

The Disco Turkeys will open the season on Friday, May 22, hosting the Uwharrie Wampus Cats at Couch Ballpark at 6:30 p.m. Opening Night will also serve as Pups in the Park Nightwith fans invited to bring their dogs to the ballpark. Pet tickets will be $5, with proceeds and larger donations benefiting Carolina Boxer Rescue. Human tickets are $10, and parking is free.

The Opening Weekend festivities continue on Saturday, May 23, when the Disco Turkeys host the Davie Crocketts at 6:30 p.m. That night’s ticket will also include admission to a special Northwest North Carolina High School All-Star Game before the Disco Turkeys matchup, showcasing top local prep talent at Couch Ballpark.

“We’re excited to be back at Couch Ballpark and to open the summer with two nights that feel very true to what Disco Turkeys baseball is about,” said Disco Turkeys GM Marilyn Butterworth. “Pups in the Park has the chance to be a really fun community night, and the high school all-star game gives us a chance to celebrate talented young players from right here in our area before our own team takes the field.”

In addition to their Winston-Salem home base, the Disco Turkeys will host select games as the home team at Truist Point in High Point and First National Bank Field in Greensboro, providing fans with unique opportunities to experience Disco Turkeys baseball in professional ballpark settings.

The club has also begun assembling its 2026 roster, with a strong initial group of college players set to arrive in Winston-Salem this summer. The early roster features pitchers from UNC Pembroke, Bluefield, Southern Wesleyan, Pfeiffer, Guilford, William Peace and UVA Wise, along with position players from Ohio University, Manhattan University, North Carolina A&T, Lenoir-Rhyne, Wingate, Montreat, Morehouse and Sewanee.

Among the names in the early group are Ohio University infielder/outfielder Grant Wilson, Manhattan infielder/outfielder Bryce Fitzsimmons, North Carolina A&T infielder Luis Acevedo, Lenoir-Rhyne infielder Andru Hall, Wingate outfielder Reed Benamati, Morehouse outfielder Prince Zion Odom, and a deep collection of arms that includes Spencer Boles, Trent Lowe, Gabe Connelly, Riley Tuttle, Jimmy Wormack and Reilan Vickrey.
