Butterworth Returns to Lead Disco Turkeys as General Manager

The Carolina Disco Turkeys has recently named Marilyn Butterworth as the club’s General Manager, bringing a familiar face back to lead the organization into the 2026 season.

Butterworth’s return marks a full-circle moment for the Winston-Salem native, who began her career in sports with the Disco Turkeys before pursuing other opportunities in the industry. Now, she steps into a leadership role with the team where her journey began.

A former softball player and longtime member of the Triad community, Butterworth will work in all aspects of the club’s operations, including the overall fan experience at games. Her appointment comes at a pivotal time for the organization as it continues to build on its reputation as one of the most entertaining and community-driven teams in summer collegiate baseball.

As the team prepares for the upcoming season, Butterworth’s leadership is expected to play a key role in shaping another summer of high-energy baseball and community engagement.

The team will begin its sixth season in late May. Its full schedule will be announced in the coming weeks.
